Repurposing content

Repurposing content is a great way to take one content piece and be able to make several smaller pieces. As we discussed before, the more content you make, the better because you will have more stuff to post in order to remain consistent on social media and increase your reach.

  1. Clip It Up: Next time you film an event or longer-form video, clip it up and make several shorter videos to be posted on to platforms that thrive off of short-form video content like Instagram and TikTok. People are also more likely to watch shorter content opposed to longer-form videos.

  2. Batching content: Batching is a helpful strategy when making these types of videos. It involves preparing content ahead of time, and the podcast is a great example of batching content. We film about 4 episodes in one sitting, then we edit all of the episodes ahead of time so that we can schedule them out. If you batch the work; in our example get the 4 episodes recorded and ready early, then you can focus on other tasks as opposed to having to film one episode every single week. We are then able to go and clip up our podcast to make more posts for social media, repurposing the content.

  3. Content of Content: Make sure if you are recording video or have someone else recording that they get as much coverage of the event or shoot as possible so that you have the most raw video to work with. More coverage = more videos that you can get out of the event.

  4. Always Repurpose: When taking video of an event, or maybe a livestream, you need to be repurposing your content. Take that longer video and break it up into shorter videos to be posted onto as many content streams as possible.

Repurposing your content will save you time from having to come up with ideas and create additional videos. More content = more reach.
